The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has recognized the work of Denzel Washington, Quentin Tarantino and the little girl from “Beasts of the Southern Wild” in its nominations for 2013 Academy Awards. Slavery-era dramas “Django Unchained” and “Lincoln” will face off for Best Picture, while “Django” also scored a nom for Best Supporting Actor for Christoph Waltz.
